Vision is primarily a space sense, while hearing is primarily a time sense, for good physical reasons Frank Wilczek

TimeSpace is a audio-visual dance performance that is part of the research work Resonance. It is a collaborative project by visual artist Frouke ten Velden, composer Nicholas Thayer and director and choreographer Peter Leung.

Together they are searching for ways to translate the languages of sound and vision into sculptural and musical compositions.

TimeSpace is a sensory inspiring experience of 45 minutes in which image, sound and movement come together. It is a spatial installation where sound, light and the body influence each other through the collaboration of the three live performers: visual artist, sound artist and a dancer.

TimeSpace is largely based on our research  project Resonance

Resonance is a collaborative project by visual artist Frouke ten Velden, composer Nicholas Thayer and director and choreographer Peter Leung searching for ways to translate the languages of sound and vision into sculptural and musical compositions. This Research project stretches over a period of two years where we had several ‘showings’ that demonstrate our current state of research. We will be tapping into and exploring a specific research concept each time.

You can view Resonance’s previous worksessions at  RADION Amsterdam,  MU Artspace in Eindhoven,  Melkweg EXPO,  FOTONICA Festival, Rome, Italy, DRAKA Amsterdam and NEO Shibuya Tokio, 30 seconds museum.
