Resonance is a cross-disciplinary project that examines how you can make a translation from one to the other medium. More than a project, ist a place of research.
The artistic research focuses on the development of a performative (to perform live with) audiovisual sculpture that draws on a conceptual basis to bring  together and merge music, image and choreography.

The result is a physical sculpture that is part of an immersive audiovisual work that explores sound as a spatial reality, with live music and with the help of a multichannel sound system to sonically shape the space in the same way as the ‘physical’ sculptures. I will work with light and sculpture as a medium to interact with the performers and the musical composition, within the context of an immersive performance. Resonance is a collabortion wherein I work with the Ensemble Fuse, composer Nicholas Robert Thayer and director and choreographer Peter Leung.

Over the next year we will have several work-in-progress sessions, viewings, discussions and performances.

Resonance is een cross disciplinair project dat onderzoekt hoe je een vertaling kan maken van het ene naar
het andere medium. Resonance is een plek om onderzoek te doen. Het artistiek onderzoek richt zich op de ontwikkeling van een performatief (om live mee
op te treden) audiovisueel sculptuur dat vanuit een conceptuele basis muziek, beeld en choreografie
samenbrengt.

Het resultaat is een fysiek sculptuur dat onderdeel is van een immersief audiovisueel werk dat geluid als
een ruimtelijke realiteit onderzoekt, met live muziek en met behulp van een multichannel geluidsinstallatie
om de ruimte sonisch vorm te geven op dezelfde manier als de ‘fysieke’ sculpturen. Ik zal samen met de
makers licht en sculptuur gebruiken als medium om te interageren met de performers en de muzikale
compositie, binnen de context van een immersieve performance.

Ik werk hierin samen met het Ensemble Fuse, componist Nicholas Robert Thayer en regisseur en
choreograaf Peter Leung.

Komend jaar zullen we verschillende open en gesloten work-in-progress sessies, discussies en optredens doen.
